OnlyFans Model Courtney Clenney (26) has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli (27)
On the evening of April 3, 2022, in their luxury high-rise apartment at One Paraiso in Miami.
On November 17, 2022, a Miami-Dade Superior Court Judge heard arguments about whether Clenney should be allowed to post bond and be released from jail pending the outcome of the criminal trial.
Over the course of the two-day hearing, the prosecution argued that Clenney was a flight risk, a danger to the public, a violent and dangerous substance abuser, and a murderer who had made inconsistent stories about the incident that led to Obumseli’s death. The Prosecution released some explosive audio recordings made by Obumseli to document the increasingly angry, unstable, and unpredictable behavior and rants of Clenney during arguments. A video was presented of Clenney being arrested in Las Vegas for stabbing Obumseli in the leg during an intense discussion in 2021.
The defense argued that Clenney should be released to the custody of her parents and confined to their home in Bee Cave, Texas with a GPS ankle monitor. Coincidentally, court records establish that on June 17th, after Obumseli’s death, Clenney purchased a $1.35 million dollar home down the street from her parents. Clearly, the purchase was part of a legal strategy to protect Clenney’s assets from a wrongful death suit by Obumseli’s Family.
There have been unsubstantiated claims that Clenney transferred an estimated $1 million to her parents prior to being charged.
The defense claims that Obuseli mentally and physically abused Clenney during their tumultuous two-year relationship. Clenney was acting in self-defense when she threw a knife striking Obumseli and slicing his subclavian artery leading to death. The Medical Examiner believes that Clenney directly stabbed Obumseli in a downward motion with significant force. However, under cross-examination, the M.E. did admit that he could not exclude the possibility that the knife was thrown.
The defense countered the prosecution’s argument by establishing that Clenney did not flee or cause harm to anyone during the months prior to the charges being filed.
The Superior Court Judge is expected to announce her ruling on bond on December 8th at 9:30 a.m.
